What Happens Next?

Cartakeback aims to provide you with a first class service when you have your end of life vehicle collected and treated by one of our nationwide Authorised Treatment Facilities in accordance with our customer charter.

As soon as you have provided us with the required details and you have received a quotation to have your vehicle collected, our operator will contact you at the time that you requested.  They will ask you to confirm that the details which you have provided are all correct including the condition of your vehicle, the location and the price, before agreeing a convenient collection time with you.

If your vehicle is incomplete, contains any additional waste, or is inaccessible, then the operator may need to increase the price from the one originally quoted to you.  You will of course have the opportunity to accept or reject any amended quotation when you are contacted by the operator.

On arrival, the Cartakeback.com technician will assess the condition of your vehicle to make sure that it is safe to be transported.
You will be asked to sign a Collection Note (FF4) to say that all of the details are correct and that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions contained within the Collection Services Agreement.

Certificate of Destruction (CoD)

To help us de-register your vehicle you should hand over your V5C registration document (logbook) as you will no longer need it.   You do not need to contact DVLA as we will do this for you using our electronic link to the DVLA vehicle registration database.  Our ATF will then issue you with an official DVLA Certificate of Destruction (CoD).

If you don’t have your registration document, don’t worry, our ATF may still be able to issue a CoD.

The operator will either make the CoD available for you to collect or they will post it to you.  If you do not receive your CoD within 10 days please e-mail info@cartakeback.com stating your reference number.

You should retain your CoD as proof that your vehicle has been disposed of correctly.  You do not need to send a copy of the CoD to anyone unless specifically requested.  If you do not obtain a CoD you could face considerable fines under new continuous licensing laws.

In some circumstances it may not be possible to issue a CoD, however we will notify you of what you need to do if this happens.

Your vehicle will then be de-polluted in line with the latest environmental legislation.
